Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Do Pilates?

Absolutely—yes, you can.
If you’re in reasonably good health and can get on and off a mat or a Pilates reformer on your own, then Pilates is well within reach. My goal is to help you feel equipped, capable, confident, and supported every step of the way.

I’ve Never Tried Pilates—What’s So Great About It?

Pilates is for every age, every stage, and everybody. It’s not just stretching or core work—it’s about restoring how your body was designed to move. Whether you want to keep up with grandkids or improve your golf swing, Pilates builds strength, improves movement quality, and protects your joints.

With consistent practice, you’ll notice improvements in:

  • Balance, flexibility, coordination, and posture

  • Functional strength and athletic performance

  • Back, neck, and joint discomfort

  • Core connection and pelvic floor support

  • Symptoms of scoliosis or osteoporosis

  • Digestion, stress levels, and even your mood

How Often Should I Do Pilates?

Consistency creates results.
To feel the difference Pilates makes, aim for 1–3 sessions a week. It’s a practice that deepens over time—your strength builds, your awareness sharpens, and your body moves with ease. Clients often tell me they miss it when life gets busy—and can’t wait to return.

What Should I Wear?

Come ready to move in:

  • Comfortable, form-fitting clothes

  • Athletic leggings, yoga pants, or lined shorts

  • Fitted tops that won’t shift or ride up

Avoid zippers, buttons, belts, or anything that could damage equipment.
Footwear: barefoot or grip socks (optional, but helpful).
Please skip perfumes, lotions, or jewelry—they transfer to equipment and are hard to clean.

Do I Need Special Gear?

Nope. Just bring yourself. Grip socks are welcome but not required. Everything else you need is right here.

What’s the Difference Between Group and Private Sessions?

Group Pilates Classes
Friendly, focused, and small in size. You’ll follow a thoughtfully designed flow while I keep a close eye on your form. Perfect for anyone who loves the energy of moving together.

Private Pilates Sessions
Customized, one-on-one instruction in my professional home studio. From the moment I greet you at the door, your session is fully tailored to your body, your goals, and how you're feeling that day.

Why Choose a Private Session?

In a private session, you’ll receive:

  • A program created just for you

  • Quiet, focused space with no distractions

  • Expert guidance and real-time feedback

  • Use of professional-grade equipment—including a Reformer, Tower, Arc, Chair, jump board, and more

My studio is sparkling clean, and all equipment is sanitized between sessions.

What Makes Your Pilates Approach Different?

Most Pilates today falls into two camps: fast-paced fitness classes or rehab-based physio sessions.
I offer something more:

Authentic, full-spectrum Pilates—adapted to your unique body, your goals, and your nervous system.

Unlike one-size-fits-all routines, I teach you how to truly feel your movement, refine it, and grow at your own pace.

What sets me apart:
I’m South Dakota’s first and only Certified Neurocentric Trainer, offering a brain-based approach that integrates the nervous system into every movement. This isn’t just a workout—it’s a reset. Clients reduce pain, improve coordination, and unlock easier, more natural movement patterns.

This is Pilates for your whole body and your whole brain.

What Should I Do Before My Session?

  • Dress in comfortable, movement-friendly clothes

  • Eat light and stay hydrated

  • Come open to learning, growing, and reconnecting with your body

What’s the Studio Like?

When you arrive, you’ll park in my driveway and be personally welcomed. I’ll guide you down a few steps into a quiet, clean, professional studio designed with your comfort and progress in mind. There’s a private restroom and a spot for your belongings—everything is thoughtfully set up to support you.
